Access to proper healthcare is an important part of life. However, it is also something that those living in poverty frequently lack. Some of our volunteers choose to work in this industry, including at the following places.
- Casa de Salud’s mission is to deliver high quality clinical and mental health services for uninsured and underinsured patients, focusing on new immigrants and refugees who encounter barriers to accessing other sources of care.
- Mercy Neighborhood Ministry is a ministry seeking to improve the quality of life for poor and underserved communities by increasing health care access, providing education, and coordinating community resources. It includes a health clinic that serves a diverse and multicultural population.
- Our Lady’s Inn is a shelter for pregnant women and their children, providing general healthcare.
- St. Elizabeth Adult Day offers services to the elderly and disabled adults in 9 locations throughout the St. Louis area.
